    Positively amazing

    Monday, July 30, 2007, 11:23 AM [General]

    I got a question from one of our hypnospace members about the opening of a hypnosis center that is Positive Changes, and just remembered a funny (or horrific) story from one of my radio show callers.

    Here in Sacramento there was a center. Apparently they were in deep debt and had to close the doors- literally.

    This woman who called in to my show had been to positive changes and was in a therapy room, doors closed, eyes closed, listening to a taped session.

    When her session was done, no one came in. She noticed it was very dark. She went out into the main room, no lights, no people, no nothing. It was evening, and she was in total darkness.

    She was locked in and could not get out. They had gone out of business, left and locked up while she was still in the therapy room. I don't remember what she said about how she got out.
    I did help her to undo the fear and distrust that the experience created.

    Not such a "positive" experience.

    Door Stop

    Saturday, July 28, 2007, 10:49 AM [General]

    Saturday -

    Wow, what a lot of changes in the last week. And lots of details and plans to attend to.
    I am headed up to Seattle for my nephew's wedding next weekend. And off to Long beach for 4 days with Tony Robbins, then get ready to head out to burning man in Nevada at the end of the month. I think I had a motorcycle trip in the Himalayas penciled in for August (seriously, yes I did) but since it was in pencil, it had to go.
    My friend Bruce Muzik, who some of you may know, does these motorcycle trips with a big group in several places around the world. Maybe I will hold out for India, the Karma enduro uses cars. Or Africa. These are some really spectacular adventures. Want to join me?

    I have never been to burning man, always wanted to. Swore I would never do it unless I have a motorhome and a hot shower every day. I wonder if they have room service?
    Will I see any of you there? There are some hypno friends who go every year.

    I downsized my business recently. I went from 17 employees to only 6, and I am renting out half of my 3000 sq foot office. My new office roomates are totally cool. Their board of directors includes Wozniak. I am trying to get an interview with him. I am sure he can tell us a few things about being successful. He won't be sitting around in my office, but a few of the others on the board will be there every day. This is quite an interesting adventure. I am sure I will be inspired by such a great group.

    It's weird to take a step back and downsize. After growing so fast, costs getting out of control and mind expanding stress of running the biz, simplifying just seems right. And if my hunch is right, we will be much more profitable.

    As a result of the office changes, we have been cleaning out the nooks and crannies. We had a big give away day, by putting stuff on Craigslist for free. I love doing that. People are so excited to get stuff for free. And it really is so much simpler than selling all that crap. One of the last items to go, even for free, was an old CRT monitor. I think they will use it for a door stop. Some day those things will be sitting in antique stores while our children go "wow, amazing, they use to actually sit in front of those things and stare for hours?.

    Have a wise and wondrous weekend!

    Remembering Janet Macy

    Tuesday, June 19, 2007, 12:19 PM [General]

    Hello all,

    Some of you may know Janet Macy.
    She lost her battle with cancer on Sunday night.

    I have been thinking about what to say, since it is such a heavy feeling to lose Janet... and yesterday I spent a lot of time reflecting on all the ways she touched our lives.

    She was a wonderful teacher, therapist, friend... and when I was with her the thing I noticed the most was her sincerity and her geniune caring about others. I know that people who were taught by her and attended her workshops were aware of her geniune nature.
    It is rare to find someone who has such a gift to teach and heal.
    I just dont know what to say.
    Her spirit is with us and will continue to guide us. In the profession of hypnotherapy there are lives that are changed forever from the work that we do. Janet has left a permanent and positive impact on the world for so many people, in so many ways.

    It is hard to see someone have to go through such a difficult ending to life, and to leave us too soon. Janet's spirit can stay with us to remind us to live a beautiful life every day, make a difference for others in every moment we can, find our own sincerity in our words and thoughts and in the geniune love in our eyes.

    The feeling that I have when I think of Janet is that pure sincerity and geniune spirit. I will seek to find that in myself, allow it to grow and to guide me to be my geniune self. This is what Janet has inspired me to do....

    I spoke with her husband this morning. He would love to recieve the emails here with thoughts and wishes and rememberances.
    Anything you post here to remember her, I will forward to him. I am sure it will make a difference for their family when they realize how loved she was.

    A few days ago I made a contribution to the Cancer Society, in hopes it will continue to help to make progress.
    We can all remember that every day is precious and live our lives with love and compassion, as Janet has.

    Getting things in order

    Monday, June 18, 2007, 10:05 AM [General]

    Just so you know, one of my biggest challenges is getting organized. My brain doesn't work in an order fashion, and I have to work at it a little.

    If you are a hypnotherapist, did you get into this work because you have a highly creative and possibly unorganized thought process? (some call it ADD, but I call it genius)
    Are most hypnotherapists, the succesful ones, highly creative types? Just wondering if that is a common thread among us.

    This week I am having three Hypnotic Marketing teleseminars that are free. If you want to join me, just respond to the invite that is in my newsletter that will go out today. I will put a link here as well, later today, to get on the list.

    The teleseminars will start on Wednesday. I should be able to get my act together by then.

    :)

    Happy Monday!
    Smile, breathe...
    Rinse and repeat.

    Sunday is the best day

    Sunday, June 17, 2007, 01:03 PM [General]

    HOW do I change my user name? For some strange reason it shows my email address rather than my name? Anyone know? Cal, can you help?

    ~~~~~~~~~
    There is something about sundays.
    I feel more peaceful, appreciate the moment, love the slow easy mornings especially with the perfect northern california weather we are having.
    I think that some of the most creative times I have are on these mornings. The weekday stress and deadlines are gone (even though monday is promising more workday thrills) and it just feels like this is life.
    The thing that I am noticing lately is the talk about working and making money and not having time to enjoy it.
    About 4 years ago, when I was still struggling financially, I made a decision to work my a*s*s off for 2 years, just to see what would happen.
    (I still have my a's's however) I figured I had nothing to lose, since I would either make things work fabulously and have financial freedom or I would work really hard and be at least a little better off than I was.
    The reward would be that at least I played the game to the fullest. If you don't show up, you can't get the goodies.
    So, I did work at it, and I also committed to using all the hypnotic tools I could. I visualized, wrote, imagined, envisioned, tapped, manifested, spent extraordinary amounts of time in my future time line, stopped the self sabotage (well for the most part) and perservered.
    I did it. I built a business that has revenue in the millions. You can do it as well. And you might as well give it a shot. Having a big goal and then falling short is not the worst thing! (I actually have fallen short of my big goal. Oh, well)
    But now, I am tired. I am looking for some inspiration and some ways to enjoy life more. Has anyone read the new book, The Four Hour Work Week? I went to get it yesterday and Borders didnt have it in yet.
    If you have any ideas or inspiration on how to let go, send them my way.
    This site is feeding my pop ups. Grrrrr...... That is uncool.
    Anyone else having pop ups? Maybe it is not the site, might be some other varmint.
